Why Europe?
Nursing and healthcare students are typically driven by a desire to help others and do well under stress. An aging population on both sides of the Atlantic is creating an unprecedented demand for nursing and healthcare professionals.
While the US healthcare system is admired for it's facilities and cutting edge R&D, it trails much of Europe in its accessibility and medical outcomes.
Students at all stages of learning can benefit tremendously from witnessing the universal healthcare systems which dominate all European countries. Each varies somewhat in its structure, but the underlying principle is the same; affordable healthcare for all.
The United Kingdom's NHS has been the single most successful government program ever. Now 75 years old, the NHS represents the backbone of British society. But it also faces significant strains on resources, a situation exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Republic of Ireland is experiencing similar challenges and offers a complementing experience to the UK mainland.
The Netherlands operates a slightly different universal system based upon a degree of ability to pay. Their approach to aging, end of life and mental healthcare are both innovative and inspirational.
So we invite you to collaborate with us in designing a program to visit with a wide array of European healthcare partners. To receive some examples of past programs, please click the itinerary link to the left.
Programs are available for undergraduate, post graduate and healthcare professionals.
